The Mid-Autumn Festival by the River officially opened at the River Promenade along Clarke Quay yesterday. It is the fourth edition of the annual event, and yesterday's light-up ceremony opened with a bang, with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gracing the event.
The festival aims to promote the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture, heritage and traditions. There will also be nightly performances, and a display of giant lanterns created by master craftsmen from Sichuan, China. (cr: today newspaper)
